Does the Martingale roulette betting system work?
I really don’t think this works at all, and if it did then why isn’t everyone getting rich from this system? It sounds too good to be true and it is for many reasons.
The first problem is that the house edge will grind away at any possible income. Here is the theory behind the system. The odds of losing say 7 consecutive coin tosses in a row are rare but certainly not impossible. The system proposes that you bet a starting amount of say $10 and every time you lose you double the bet size. So if you lose 6 hands in a row and win on the 7th one then you profit.
This system fails quickly if your maximum bet size is $500. Of course betting black, red, odd or even in roulette comes with a house edge so for every bet you place you are automatically losing money, on average.
If of course you don’t believe me then you can prove it by trying your luck at an online casino. If you win you can prove me wrong but if you lose then surely you won’t say a word.
